Sandia Cooler, the tiny rotating CPU radiator

The Sandia National Laboratory has developed a small CPU radiator that turns on itself from fan for heat dissipation and thus occupy less space.

Sandia Cooler is a heatsink-fan prototype developed by a laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, which promises to be revolutionary.

Indeed, the concept is based on a circular, consisting of curved vanes, sink that runs on himself with a small motor, all placed on a fixed basis in direct contact with the CPU. This cooling solution allows then to gain footprint in a box because with a heat dissipation and optimized, more need of massive ventirads round format with many 120 mm fans. Sandia Cooler is also presented as thirty times more efficient than the current CPU ventirads while being ten times more compact.

The idea is there, on the schema this seems devilishly effective but it still develop the product before its commercialization to address the concern of the noise emitted by the engine and the actual effectiveness of this all-in-one heatpipe upright in full view of the video below.

What should no longer delay, Sandia found an industrial partner to refine, finalize and market what could revolutionize the world of CPU cooling. Case to follow...

Cooler Master lance son Silencio 650

After a year in the company of Silencion 550, Cooler Master recidivism and presents its 650 Silencio. What's new?

About a year ago, Cooler Master put on sale its Silencio 550, dedicated to the world of silence with covered panels of foam and fans turning to low to prevent any extra decibel. This year, Cooler Master returns with a new version of its housing ATX and Micro ATX silent, the 650 Silencio.

The dimensions of this new version are not identical to the previous and appear to be even a little smaller (10.7 x 47.9 x 52.6 cm) for a total weight of 13 kg instead of 9.2 kg at the time. Behind the door of the Silencio hides three slots for optical drive, including a convertible in location for disk hard 3.5 ", for the latter, it is not in rest and offers seven seats in addition to the two places for a SSD 2.5 inch.

On the front panel, or rather the top, Cooler Master has developed the package by providing its housing of two USB ports 3.0 and two others in USB 2.0. But also a SD card reader, a ruler to control the speed of rotation of two 12 cm fans located aft and forward without forgetting the two jacks for audio and a switch to select the startup main hard disk. This last gadget we seems still a little, how to say, useless? Find not too fast, we will propose you a test in good and due form shortly.

Still is that this package allows to disassemble cage drives to a maximum length of graphics cards of 26.8 cm to 43.4 cm, never know? Provided fans turn to 1200 t/m 17 dbA Max, but it will be possible to replace and even add a turbine on the cage of the hard drives as well as below the box to bring fresh air in this Chamber of containment.

A little more expensive everything and its predecessor, €129.99, he will be accompanied by a two year warranty. The silence is golden?
